Welcome to the Southern Maryland Chapter of the Blue Knights International, Maryland IV. Southern Maryland is a Tri-County area, comprised of Calvert, Charles ad St. Mary's counties, located just south of Washington D.C.

We were formed in 1991 by a group of 15 individuals (13 new and 2 transfers).  We currently have more than 80 members, in both active duty and retired status, from several different law enforcement agencies in our area, St. Mary's County Sheriff's, Charles County Sheriff's, Prince George's County Police, Maryland State Police, U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Military Police, U.S. Marshal, U.S. Park Police, U.S. Secret Service, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police and others.

Our Chapter has 'long been' associated with 'ROLLING THUNDER, RIDE TO THE WALL', the annual Memorial Day motorcycle event in Washington D.C., demonstrating for the return of those who have yet to come home from Vietnam. We design and sell one of the officially licensed event t-shirts and host a 3-day event in Southern Maryland for Blue Knights traveling to the event for that weekend. See our Run to the Wall Page.

We are also heavily involved in supporting the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD.

Experience the history of the Blue Knights which can be found in this video - http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZWpvIvx6Trs. The Blue Knights have now been included in the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum. The museum is the nation's first national police museum and memorial dedicated to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
